Two-piece suits can be nerve-wracking, we know.
For easier use, we recommend:
- pour the full lower part first
- make the edge together with the same resin
- place the upper part on top
- wait until the first part hardens and the form becomes “waterproof”
- after the first part, pour the upper part full of stone.
Or carefully and tightly cover the joint of the already assembled form with hot glue, which is a faster and somewhat more reasonable option. Later, the strip of hot glue will come off the mold beautifully as a whole ring and should not leave any marks.
You should definitely not connect the different parts of the mold with a silicone-based sealant or mastic, this will most likely result in a “one-off” broken mold.
When filling a half mold, you should not use a fire to remove bubbles, but a heat gun.
When removing the mold later, it’s a good idea to do it in soapy water, it helps the process a lot!
As always, the less damage the form receives in the form of scratches and breaks, the longer it will last.
